Sharon, Kelly Osbourne remember Ozzy Osbourne 1 year after his death
Sharon and Kelly Osbourne paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne on Wednesday, as the city of Birmingham, England, prepared to hold its first Ozzy Day, celebrating the late Black Sabbath frontman on the one-year anniversary of his death.
"I can't forget what Birmingham did for Ozzy," Sharon Osbourne, the singer-songwriter's widow, told the BBC ahead of the celebration. "[It's] such a big part of my kids and me and everything. It's who my husband is, what he is."
Ozzy Osbourne was born in Warwickshire county in 1948 and grew up in North-Central Birmingham. He died July 22, 2025, and his funeral procession was held in the city, passing by his childhood home.
"He loved this city, he loved its people. He was proud of being a Brummie, and that's it," Sharon Osbourne said, referencing a nickname for people from Birmingham.
Sharon Osbourne also reflected on the past year since her husband's death and who he was as a person, describing him as "authentic" and "genuine and funny."
"He never tried to be anything other than what he was, and he would tell you the truth about everything -- and that was him. You knew where you were with him," she added.
Kelly Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne's daughter, also took to Instagram on Wednesday and shared a photo of her dad alongside a message addressed to him.
"My daddy," she wrote. "One year ago today, the world changed forever. Today I sit here beside you in a way I never thought would be possible. I know you are still with me. I feel you in the quiet, in the wind, in every song that stops me in my tracks, [in] the smell of your cologne and in every moment that love outweighs grief. You are all around me."
"The hardest part isn't that you're gone," she continued. "The hardest part is that I can't touch you. I can't hold your hand. I can't wrap my arms around you or feel the safety that only you could give me. I always thought life was hard, but life without you has been the hardest thing I have ever had to endure."
She wrote that she wished her father could see her son Sidney grow up, adding, "Every single day I catch glimpses of you in him. Your smile. Your spirit. Your mannerisms ... seeing you reflected in him is one of the greatest gifts I have ever been given."
She concluded her post by remembering her father as someone who "made people believe that life could be better because of the way you lived yours."
"There will never be another you. You carried something extraordinary inside you, a kind of magic that felt heaven-sent, and I will spend the rest of my life feeling grateful that I got to call you my daddy," she wrote.
Ozzy Osbourne died July 22, 2025, at age 76, following a battle with Parkinson's disease, with which he was diagnosed in 2019.
Weeks before before his death, he performed his final show in Birmingham alongside his former Black Sabbath bandmates at the Back to the Beginning benefit concert.
Since his death, his family has honored him and kept his legacy alive in many ways.
At the 2026 Grammy Awards, Kelly, Sharon and Jack Osbourne paid tribute to the late singer.
When asked about how Ozzy Osbourne's musical impact reflected across different generations of artists, Jack Osbourne told ABC News Digital on the red carpet, "It's a testament to his talent and magic."
