'Renaissance: A Film By Beyonce' is coming to theaters
Tickets for "Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé" -- a film adaptation of Beyoncé's blockbuster "Renaissance World Tour" -- are now on sale.
Weeks after Taylor Swift announced her "Eras Tour" film, Queen Bey has done the same, announcing the film of her own massively successful series of concerts will hit theaters Dec. 1.
"Be careful what you ask for, 'cause I just might comply," the singer wrote on Instagram, sharing the news with fans.
The project encompasses elements from Beyoncé's live performances throughout 2023 in support of her "Renaissance" album, released in 2022, and featuring behind-the-scenes moments with the iconic performer. Even her daughter, Blue Ivy, who has performed onstage with her mom, makes an appearance.
A press release trumpets, "'Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé' accentuates the journey of the Renaissance World Tour, from its inception, to the opening in Stockholm, Sweden, to the finale in Kansas City, Missouri. It is about Beyoncé’s intention, hard work, involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft."
In a trailer for the film, Beyoncé says, "When I am performing, I am nothing but free. The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free and no one is judged. Start over, start fresh. Create the new. That's what the Renaissance is all about."
When asked at the end of the trailer how she feels, the singer responds, "I feel liberated. I have transitioned into a new animal."
As the press release for the film notes, Beyoncé's "Renaissance World Tour" has been enjoyed by "more than 2.7 million fans" -- and now it will be available for many more to experience.
