Prince George, the eldest child of Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales, is now a teenager.

George, second in line to the British throne, celebrated his 13th birthday on Wednesday.

The grandson of King Charles III, George was born at London's St Mary's Hospital on July 22, 2013, an event that made headlines around the world due to his birth order as the first child of Kate and William, the heir to the throne.

George has two younger siblings, an 11-year-old sister, Princess Charlotte, and an 8-year-old brother, Prince Louis.

George was most recently seen publicly attending the men's final at Wimbledon on July 12 alongside his parents and Charlotte.

As George has gotten older, he has taken on special engagements with William and Kate, marking both his age and his special role as the future heir.

In June, Kensington Palace shared that Kate and George stepped out for a joint engagement at RAF Coningsby, a Royal Air Force Base, in honor of Armed Forces Day.

Several months earlier, in December, George joined William at the Passage, a London-based charity supporting people experiencing homelessness, to help prepare the organization's annual Christmas lunch.

This coming school year will prove another milestone for George, who will follow in William's footsteps in September by attending Eton College, a boys' boarding school located near Windsor Castle.

George is expected to board, as Eton College does not have day students.

For the past several years, George has lived at home while attending the Lambrook School, a prep school in Berkshire, England, with his younger siblings.

Like Lambrook School, Eton College is also located close to the Wales family's home, just a 15-minute drive away.
